Nigerian Guild of Editors (NGE) to hold convention by December

The 2010 biennial convention of the Nigerian Guild of Editors will hold in Lagos in December. The election is to elect members into its Standing Committee.

According to a statement in Abuja by the NGE General Secretary, Mr. John Ndukauba, sixteen officers will emerge to lead the Guild for the next two years in accordance with its constitution.

The present Executive led by Mr. Gbenga Adefaye, Editor-In-Chief and General Manager, Vanguard Newspapers, was elected in 2008.

Mr. Ndukauba said a convention planning Committee led by Mr. Bonnie Iwuoha has been set up.

Other members of the Committee are Mrs. Funke Egbemode, Sun Newspapers, Mr. Ahiaziah Suleiman of the Voice of Nigeria, Abuja and Mr. Steve Ayorinde.

Sixteen Editors drawn from all over the Country will be inducted during the 2010 Convention where a reviewed Constitution will be adopted.
