Zainab Shamsuna Ahmed emerges Executive Secretary of the Nigeria Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative(NEITI)

The appointment of Mrs Zainab Shamsuna Ahmed as the Executive Secretary of the Nigeria Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative, NEITI, has been ratified by the Federal government.
In a statement signed by Orji Ogbonnaya Orji, Director of Communications, the appointment followed the recommendations of the National Stakeholders working group of NEITI, after an extensive screening and interview process.

Until her appointment, Mrs Ahmed was a member of the National Stakeholders Working Group (NSWG), of NEITI, and former Managing Director Kaduna Industrial and Finance Company.
Mrs. Zainab Ahmed is a member of Association of National Accountants of Nigeria and Fellow, Institute of Certified Company Commercial Accountants of Nigeria among other professional organisations.

A letter by the Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Alhaji Yayale Ahmed, conveying the appointment reaffirmed President Jonathan’s confidence in her ability.

The appointment is with immediate effect and is for a single term of five years.
She holds a degree in Accounting from the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria and Masters in Business Administration.
Zainab Shamsuna Ahmed is the second Executive Secretary since the inception of NEITI and she takes over from Haruna Yunusa Sa'eed who has since left for politics in his home state, Kaduna.
